During the meeting, issues of further development of military education at the university were discussed. Lieutenant-General Y.P. Bobrov highly appreciated the level of military education and the quality of military personnel training at the university.

Military education at the Ufa State Aviation Technical University has a long history and glorious traditions.
The beginning of military training at UAI-USATU is inextricably linked with the Great Patriotic War and the evacuation of the Rybinsk Aviation Institute to Bashkiria. The first lectures at the Ufa Aviation Institute named after Sergo Ordzhonikidze resumed in January 1942. Along with classes in civilian specialties, military training was introduced at the end of 1943. By order of the People's Commissar of the Aviation Industry of the USSR, a training and rifle battalion was organized, which was called the Osoaviakhimovsky Komsomol Battalion of the UAI. A year later, a student regiment was formed on the basis of the battalion.
In the victorious year 1945, the first graduation of 45 reserve officers took place at the military department of the UAI. In total, more than 800 reserve lieutenants were trained in the post-war decade, many of whom then served in the ranks of the USSR Air Force.
The development of aviation in the 50s of the twentieth century is notable for the massive transition from piston engines to jet propulsion, which led to the need to train specialists of a new format. The department has done a great job on the development of modern curricula, re-equipping of classes, and the number of military training profiles has increased. A serious foundation was laid for military-scientific, rationalization and inventive activity. Much attention was paid to the development and improvement of the scientific work of the teaching staff, the officers of the department successfully defended dissertations for the degree of candidate and doctor of science.
The years 2006-2007 were marked by the optimization of the number of military departments in the country. This process also affected the department at USATU, admission to which was suspended. The energy and purposefulness of the leadership, the fruitful work of the team, the demand for graduates of the military department by the Armed Forces contributed to the final decision on the advisability of continuing military education of students of our university. Along with the training of reserve officers at the military department, USATU began to train regular officers on the basis of the established Military Training Center.
In 2009, the Faculty of Military Education was established, which was transformed in 2015 into the Institute of Military Technical Education. And in 2019, on the basis of the military training center and the military department, a single structure was formed - the Military Training Center (MTC) at USATU with the task of training university students under the programs of career officers, officers and reserve soldiers. Since 2014, the university has been training reserve soldiers.
The development of the MTC is closely connected with the education of the future officer, the formation of the student's idea of the military profession, pride in the history of his people and a sense of civic patriotism. A young man who has determined his life path as serving the Motherland must be aware of and prepare for the fact that a modern military man must possess the qualities of a qualified specialist, patriot and mentor.
Over 19 thousand graduates who have undergone military training over the years are a worthy contribution to improving and maintaining the defense capability of our country.
