Training of masters of materials science who are capable of setting and solving engineering and scientific&technical problems in the sphere of new materials and coatings

О программе «Неразрушающий контроль (на английском языке)»

The program combines fundamental knowledge in the sphere of physics, chemistry and mechanics of materials with practical skills of work with modern technologies and research equipment. A mandatory element of training is the independent research work by students, which helps to deepen knowledge and acquire useful skills. Specialists who understand the structure of materials and are able to manage their properties successfully adapt to any technological areas.
1. Key aspects of the program;
- Study of modern materials;
- Steels and alloys for aerospace purposes;
- Composite materials (polymer, metal, ceramic based);
- Nanomaterials with unique properties of strength and superplasticity , technologies for their production;
- Smart materials (with shape memory, self-healing, adaptive);
- Biocompatible materials for medicine and environmentally friendly materials.
2. Design and production technologies:
- Methods of computer modeling, design of materials and structures.
- Additive technologies, 3D printing, technologies for producing hollow ultra-light structures using diffusion welding and superplastic forming, growing single crystals.
- Modern technologies for processing and modifying materials, thermal, chemical&thermal, mechanical strengthening of products.
3. Expertise and analysis of materials:
- Testing materials for strength, plasticity, heat resistance, wear resistance and fatigue life.
- Use of modern approaches of structure research: optical electron and probe microscopy, X-ray structural analysis, thermophysical research methods, spectral and photoelectron analysis of alloy composition.
- Methods of non-destructive testing and diagnostics: flaw detection, evaluation of structural parameters and strength properties of finished products, measurement of product thickness with one-sided access, non-contact control of the geometry of complex-shaped products.
Application in high-tech industries: aerospace and automotive industry; energy and electronics; medicine and biotechnology, construction and ecology, oil and gas industry.
