The results of the 2021 competition for the award named after Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences A.I. Tatarkin for scientific achievements in the field of research on territorial socio-economic systems and political economy of the Institute of Economics of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences have been summed up.

Among the winners in the nomination "For the best work in the field of political economy" - Associate Professor of the Department of Economics of Entrepreneurship, USATU, Ph.D. Marina Franz. Together with a colleague from Bashkir State University, Ph.D. Zulfiya Ibragimova was awarded the prize for a series of works on the study of income inequality from the standpoint of the theory of equal opportunities.

The 2021 contest received 24 applications from 13 Russian cities: Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Perm, Vologda, Moscow, Apatity, Saratov, Vladivostok, Novosibirsk, Barnaul, Petrozavodsk, Ufa and Pskov. In the nomination "For the best work in the field of political economy”, 4 applications were submitted, according to the results of review and examination, two, one of which was presented by scientists from the Ufa State Aviation Technical University and Bashkir State University, was recognized as the best.

It should be noted that Alexander Ivanovich Tatarkin became an Honorary Doctor of USATU in 2011, and for many years a well-known Russian scientist and economist was a participant in the International Scientific Conference on Economic Management at USATU.

The graduation ceremony and the presentation of the award winners will take place on March 11, 2022 at the Institute of Economics of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences at the V Scientific Readings dedicated to the memory of Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Ivanovich Tatarkin.
