On March 23, 2022, Andrei Shpilenko, Director of the Association of Clusters and Technoparks of Russia, visited the university on a working visit.

An the first part of the visit, a meeting was held with the participation of the Minister of Industry, Energy and Innovation of the Republic of Bashkortostan Alexander Sheldyaev, Rector of the Ufa State Aviation Technical University Sergey Novikov, Director of the State Regional Center for Standardization, Metrology and Testing in the Republic of Bashkortostan Sergey Sevnitsky, General Director of JSC Development Corporation of the Republic of Bashkortostan Nail Gabbasov, President Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Bashkortostan Timur Khakimov and other representatives of state structures.

Rector Sergey Novikov warmly welcomed the participants of the event, noting that educational programs that form ESG strategies are already being implemented at USATU.

The topic of the meeting is "Introduction of ESG standards at the infrastructure sites of Bashkortostan". Director of the Association of Clusters and Technoparks of Russia A.V. Shpilenko made an excursion into history. Thus, in 2015, the UN approved 17 sustainable development goals (UN SDGs), i.e., when the activities and needs of modern society do not harm future generations, but find a balance between them. Namely, to achieve sustainable development, ESG corporate standards are being developed and implemented.

ESG stands for "ecology, social policy and corporate governance." In relation to corporations, this means their involvement in solving environmental, social and governance problems. The trend began to develop actively in the world, and now private investors and financial institutions are increasingly applying these requirements to companies when allocating them financing.

Today, despite the rapidly changing foreign policy environment, if they want to achieve sustainable development in today's realities, Russian companies should start transforming their business processes, rebuild their corporate systems and introduce ESG standards in Russia.

 - It was Bashkortostan that was chosen as a pilot site for the implementation of ESG standards at its infrastructure facilities, - Andrey Viktorovich Shpilenko noted in his speech. - I am sure that the leadership of the republic, ministries and departments of the region, teachers and students of USATU will support our work.

Further, the director of the Association of Clusters and Technoparks of Russia met with the student activists of the university.
