Mass vaccination of children against coronavirus in Russia will begin in 2022. The corresponding preventive procedure is included in the national vaccination calendar and in the vaccination calendar for epidemiological indications.

The vaccine will be the drug "Sputnik M" - it is already officially registered in the Russian Federation and is a reduced dosage of the "adult" drug "Sputnik V". The consent of the parents or legal representatives of the child will be required when vaccinating citizens of the Russian Federation aged 12 to 15 years. Adolescents who have reached the age of 15 will make the decision on vaccination on their own.

 Features of this vaccine:

 * consists of 2 components;

* introduced in two stages with a break of 21 days.

The drug was tested in a clinical setting in two phases. The study of the Sputnik M drug was carried out in Moscow, on the basis of ten metropolitan outpatient clinics and two city hospitals. During the tests:

* 2.5 thousand People received the vaccine;

* 600 people received placebo.

The distribution of research participants into groups was carried out randomly.

In Israel, the vaccination of children from 5 to 11 years old is already in full swing. 12 years and older are already vaccinated. In the United States, people aged 12 and older are vaccinated, while research is underway in the younger categories.
