At the St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University, an offsite meeting was held with the heads of state authorities and organizations on the issue of fulfilling the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation.
The meeting was attended by Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Nikolai Evmenov, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Yury Borisov, General Director of Roscosmos State Corporation, Yury Mikhailov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Military Industrial Commission, Dmitry Afanasyev, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, General Director of Gazprom Neft Alexander Dyukov, head of the United Shipbuilding Corporation Alexei Rakhmanov, founder of AFK Sistema Vladimir Yevtushenkov, CEO of the Tactical Missiles Corporation Boris Obnosov.
The meeting was attended by the rector of the USATU Sergei Novikov.
The meeting is devoted to the participation of universities in ensuring the technological independence of Russia, improving the quality of personnel training on the example of St. Petersburg State Medical University, as well as the creation of an innovative scientific and technological center "Primorskaya Dolina".
Rector of Morskoye Gleb Turichin emphasized in his report that the university systematically continues to work with its partners to build competencies, research and production infrastructure, expand areas of activity, and improve the quality of training engineers, including in the regions of Russia.
It should be noted that USATU and SPbGMTU are implementing a network educational program "Laser and additive technologies in aircraft engine building", and in cooperation with UMPO they are doing a lot of joint work to provide Gazprom PJSC with the appropriate repair production capacities.
It should be noted that USATU made its proposals on the issues of ensuring import substitution and technological independence in certain industries. In cooperation with industrial and academic partners, the university can act as an R&D executor and integrator to ensure the technological independence of the Russian Federation in the following areas: electromechanical converters (electric motors, generators, starters, drives) for aviation and other purposes and their control systems; piston engines for aviation purposes; machine tool building; technologies for the renovation of gas turbine engines; tools renovation technologies; casting of large-sized titanium parts and parts made of titanium-based intermetallic alloys.
Also, USATU offered colleagues the format of interaction with industrial partners adopted at our university in the form of joint student design bureaus and laboratories to solve the problems of technological independence and train engineering personnel.
During the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Military-Industrial Commission Yuri Mikhailov positively assessed the creation of the first in the Republic of Bashkortostan Center for the Development of Science, Technology and Education in the Field of Defense and State Security on the basis of the Ufa State Aviation Technical University. He emphasized that the implementation of the new structure became possible thanks to the highly professional staff of the university and its serious scientific and technological potential for the development of fundamental and applied sciences.
