Students from Qatar will study at USATU from next year
USATU reached to an agreement with Qatar Aviation Academy during the visit of the delegation to the university. It included Director General Sheikh Jabor bin Hamad Al-Thani, Director of Education Affairs Ali Asma Abdulrahman, Chief Aircraft Designer Kiran Somashekhar and Head of Quality and Planning Elsayed Osama Abdulrahman Saad.
The excursion began with a visit to the Airport laboratory-testing complex. The guests were surprised to learn that most of the flight equipment arrived on its own (or, in other words, flew in) from military units to become educational exhibits for students. The delegates even boarded the Mi-8MT helicopter and sat in the pilot's seat.
Then the acquaintance with the university took place on the territory of the university itself. Rector Sergei Novikov warmly welcomed the Qatari delegation. Members of the UGATU racing team organized demonstration races in their own built racing car, and cadets of the Military Training Center gave the Qatari delegates a military welcome.
Rector Sergei Novikov then took the delegates on a tour around the museum of aircraft engines. He drew particular attention to the fact that all the specimens presented are not mock-ups, but genuine elements of military and civil aviation and missile technology, which now use in the educational process.
The next item on the agenda was the meeting of the senior staff of the Qatar Academy and USATU. In his welcoming speech, Sergei Novikov noted that relations between our educational organizations are developing at a very good pace.
“After the first meeting within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in June this year, we agreed and signed a bilateral Agreement,” stated the rector. - This is an important document on a wide range of joint activities of our educational institutions, including the implementation of networking in the field of education and the double degree program. I believe that this program opens up great prospects and new opportunities for both Ufa students and students from Qatar. "
Vice-rector for Academic Affairs Alexey Elizariev spoke about the main indicators of our university. Dean of the Faculty of Aircraft Engines, Energy and Transport Dmitry Akhmedzyanov presented the achievements of the faculty to the guests. Acting head of the department Alexey Zyryanov introduced to the guests about the peculiarities of training in the areas of the Department of Aviation Engines.
Our students from Kenya, Sri Lanka and Egypt spoke about why they chose Ufa State Aviation Technical University. In the course of the conversation, it turned out that the hometown of the Egyptian student is located very close to the hometown of the General Director of the academy.
Representatives of the Qatar Academy sincerely thanked for the warm welcome, extensive familiarization program and confirmed their intentions to speed up the approval of the necessary documents, and invited colleagues to visit the academy in Qatar.
“International cooperation, exchange of achievements in the educational and scientific spheres today is one of the trends in the development of higher education throughout the world. I am convinced that today's meeting will contribute to the development and strengthening of our further cooperation,” concluded Rector Sergei Novikov.
