The first module of the strategic session, organized by the managing company of the world-class Eurasian REC, has ended. Theme was the design of advanced engineering schools at universities.

For five days, representatives of USATU and USPTU worked on creating the concept of a target model of advanced engineering schools, which are planned to be opened on the basis of technical universities of the Eurasian REC.  Particular attention was paid to the issues of training qualified engineering personnel in a multidisciplinary environment and establishing a qualitatively new relationship with large and high-tech companies.

The invited federal experts noted that the main thing on today's agenda is the need for advanced training of scientific and technical personnel with world-class engineering competencies.

After analyzing the current situation, the participants of the strategy session identified several problems that, in their opinion, hinder the modernization and development of the engineering education process to meet the needs of large businesses: some areas in the range of available specialties are outdated, and the labor system underlying individual industries is rigid.

The head of the strategy session, Denis Ponomarev, noted that the concept of engineering schools is based on the idea of ​​attracting large industrial partners so that they become internal participants in the project and are involved in educational processes.

Modern education should solve applied problems and, as a result, receive technologies that will help meet the big challenges facing our country, primarily import substitution.

The technical universities of the Eurasian REC, developing their existing competencies, are working on the creation of the "Eurasian Polytechnic School" and the "Higher Engineering School of Aerospace Technologies", which are the main projects of universities within the framework of the strategic academic leadership program "Priority 2030". New projects based on Ufa universities affect significant areas in mechanical engineering, aviation, and the oil industry.

“At this Strategic session, the image of the result of the advanced engineering school of USATU was formed: it is a response to the big challenge of Future of Mobility, development on the engineering frontier in the field of hybrid and electric propulsion, new materials and end-to-end technologies. We must reorganize our pedagogical activity in the engineering school in such a way that the education received by graduates is ahead of the current level of industrial development, and they can design production on new technological principles. We have a big backlog, a vision of the result and a great team, so it should turn out to be a strong project!” - commented Yevgeny Parfenov, Vice-Rector for Digitalization of USATU.

Irina Burenina, Deputy Director of the Management Company of the REC RB, emphasized that university experts considered all stages of the project implementation: from the educational process at the university to the organization of high-tech production. A new educational project must promptly respond to consumer requests and adapt to rapidly changing conditions for the production of high-tech products and new materials. It is expected that such a system of engineering education will also help to find new promising partners.

The first module of the strategic session was built on the definition by the participants of the goals, objectives and basic vectors for the development of a new project, which will later be reflected in the program for creating advanced engineering schools in the region.

Recall that the republic will take part in the federal competition for the creation of advanced engineering schools based on technical universities of the Eurasian REC. The project is expected to be implemented within 3 years and will be provided with federal funding.
