The opening ceremony of SDB "KAMAZ-UGATU", created at the Department of Electromechanics, was attended by Rector Sergey Novikov, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering Vyacheslav Vavilov, Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering Flyur Ismagilov. Sergei Nazarenko, Chief Designer for Innovative Vehicles of KAMAZ PJSC, joined the event via video link.

In his greeting, Rector Sergey Novikov emphasized that the student design bureau is a fundamentally new format for solving the problems of staff shortages in new and promising professions. University students get the opportunity to work on real design and technological projects in the interests of an industrial customer. To gain invaluable experience and competitive career advantages at the start of professional activity - these are the main tasks of SDB.

“The opening of a student design bureau will expand the area of ​​cooperation between the largest car manufacturer KAMAZ and the leading technical university of Bashkortostan. Our interaction is aimed at solving problems at the forefront, at the intersection of science and production,” Sergey Novikov noted.

He also thanked the leadership of the auto giant for supporting the university in the framework of the program to create an Advanced Engineering School.

Sergey Nazarenko, Chief Designer for Innovative Vehicles of KAMAZ PJSC, accompanied his congratulations on the opening of the Design Bureau with a presentation of new directions for the development of KAMAZ and its promising products. He spoke about the model range of fifth-generation K5 cars, novelties in the line of urban passenger electric transport, hydrogen-powered vehicles, and activities in the field of creating unmanned vehicles.

“I am sure that there are many interesting tasks for your created student team to be solved. And we will load you with work,” Sergey Nazarenko concluded.
