The III Cup of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal District among student amateur hockey teams was held in Kazan, on the iarenas of the SC Zilant and Triumph.

Bashkir team won the bronze medal in the competition, which included two of our students - Mark Sterekhov (IATM, ATP-260B) and Ilya Medvedev (FIR, BPS-413). The team played all stages of the competition with dignity, demonstrating well-coordinated play, fortitude, willpower and determination to win.

Ilya Medvedev has been playing hockey since he was 4 years old, graduated from the professional sports school "Salavat Yulaev", now plays in an amateur team. “Despite the score, all games were played in a fair and tense struggle,” the athlete comments, “but in the semifinals, unfortunately, fortune turned not in our direction, although the chances were 50-50. Note that the tournament was organized at a high level; everything was thought out to the smallest detail. "

We add that students and graduate students of universities, vocational schools and military educational organizations attended the competition. 12 teams from the republics of Bashkortostan, Mari El, Mordovia, Tatarstan, Chuvashia, Perm Territory, Kirov, Nizhny Novgorod, Penza, Samara, Saratov and Ulyanovsk regions fought for the victory.
