The results of the selection of the federal project "Advanced Engineering Schools" have been summed up. Grant support will be received by 30 universities from 15 regions of Russia.

89 universities from 41 regions of Russia competed for the right to open a new-generation engineering school in partnership with high-tech Russian companies.

USATU became the only university in Bashkortostan whose application was supported by the federal commission.

The advanced engineering school on the basis of the USATU "Motors of the Future" solves a global scientific and technical problem, which is aimed at creating highly efficient power plants, units and their systems for military and civil aviation in Russia, exceeding the world level.

The key industrial partners of the project are UEC JSC, KAMAZ PJSC, P. I. Baranov Central Institute of Aviation Motors.

Experts expect the creation of a fundamental scientific base, new technologies and materials, prototypes of electric power plants and a flying laboratory as the main result of the implementation of a strategically significant project. The new knowledge gained will allow reducing aircraft fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

“It so happened that on this day, June 30, 1982, the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR was issued on awarding the Order of Lenin to the Ufa Aviation Institute named after Sergo Ordzhonikidze for great merits in the training of qualified specialists and the development of scientific research. And now, 40 years later, we again received a well-deserved award by winning a federal-level competition.

I think this is not a coincidence, but a sign that USATU holds a high bar for high-quality engineering education and advanced scientific thought. Such a victory is especially pleasant in the year of the 90th anniversary!” - said the rector Sergey Novikov

It should be noted that the project for the creation of Advanced Engineering Schools was developed by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science on the basis of one of the 42 strategic initiatives approved by the Government of the Russian Federation and is aimed at training qualified engineering personnel for high-tech sectors of the economy

Funding for the program in 2022 will be:

- 2.5 billion rubles - from the federal budget;   

– 3.8 billion rubles – co-financing from high-tech Russian companies. 

    Until 2024, universities together with partner companies:

– will produce 2500 highly qualified engineers;

– 28 thousand teachers will be trained in advanced training courses;

– will receive more than 1.1 thousand grants for internships in companies;

– create 506 new advanced training programs for engineers.
