The speaker of the School of Academic Skills was the head of the Department of Materials Science and Physics of Metals, Professor Evgeny Parfenov.

The scientist shared his own experience of grant activities with young researchers, in particular, he gave examples of applying to the Russian Foundation for Basic Research and the Russian Science Foundation.

“The purchase of equipment, trips to conferences and internships, promotion - all this cannot be done on a salary. If you want to develop in a scientific direction, then you need additional financial resources,” the professor began his speech.

Further, he dwelled in detail on examples of youth, international, initiative grants, briefly touched upon large grants.

“Be prepared for the fact that you have to apply for ten grants, and only two will be approved. Because the scientific environment is very competitive,” said Evgeny Parfyonov.
