The university delegation headed by Rector Sergey Novikov held a meeting with schoolchildren of the city. The event was organized to intensify activities to attract potential applicants.

Before the start of the meeting, a wide information campaign was launched for the children from the head of the career guidance department, Sergei Li, and an exhibition of weapons, which was demonstrated by the cadets of the MEC.

The Rector of USATU delivered a welcoming speech to the students, their parents and teachers. Sergey Novikov stressed that in the current situation of import substitution, the profession of an engineer is in high demand. In addition, it does not matter in what field of application of knowledge - whether it be aircraft engines, materials science, and electrical, biomedical devices or telecommunications equipment. An even bigger trend is IT-specialists, who are also trained at USATU.

The rector paid special attention to the network programs supported by our university with leading universities in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

“Today you do not need to leave the republic for the capital to get a full-fledged, high-quality education. The programs of the best universities are also available to students of Bashkiria, - Sergey Novikov noted. – But, first, at the university you will be taught to think systematically, develop consistently and build the trajectory of your life. USATU is a large ecosystem in which everyone will find application for their initiatives.”

Then the rector answered a number of questions. Will the line of directions and specialties in the branch be expanded; is it realistic for a student to get an internship abroad? The participants even asked how often the head of the university meets with students and for what reasons.

Schoolchildren asked even more questions after the speech of the head of the department for work with applicants, Radik Kalimullin, who briefly explained the rules and features of admission this year. The officials specified the number of budget and target places, passing scores, the possibility of transferring from commercial to budget education, privileges for athletes upon admission.

Then it was time for learning activities. University students and teachers offered groups of schoolchildren to complete small interesting tasks to develop technical, mathematical, economic knowledge and logical thinking.

The final stage of the event was a fun quiz organized by activists of the student union committee. The students enthusiastically joined the competition and answered the questions of the game with pleasure. The winners received branded prizes.

The last and brightest chord of the meeting was the launch of a rocket from the Special Design Bureau for Applied Heat Engineering of the USATU. True, it did not take off the first time, which caused a flurry of playful comments from the younger generation.

The event was a success! Both participants and organizers liked its format of easy communication.
