The USATU Green Project team with colleagues from Nizhny Novgorod (Infinity Plastic) assembled and installed a bicycle shredder for plastic recycling.
The workshop is located in the 4th academic building at the Faculty of Protection in Emergency Situations. The project is implemented with the support of the Innosocium Foundation.
The installation, which consists of a bicycle shredder, an injector, and a set of molds, looks like an exercise bike. The principle of operation is as simple as possible - we throw the lids into the container, sit on the iron horse and pedal for the pleasure of ourselves and nature. At the output, we get shredded plastic, from which key rings, pens and other products can be made using a heat press. Thus, by working out on a bicycle, you can get a reward.
Eco-activists assured that the first master classes will begin in September and will be organized for both students and schoolchildren.
“We want everyone to understand that sending waste for recycling is affordable and useful, and moreover, it is absolutely possible in Ufa. I thank USATU, Rector Sergey Novikov, Vice-Rector Alexei Elizariev and our mentor Associate Professor Elvira Nafikova for the opportunity to make my dream come true,” says project participant Kamilla Chuvashaeva.
