According to a long tradition, the participants of the All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference “Electrical Engineering. Aviation and Space - 2022" (organizer - the Department of Electro-mechanics of the Ural State Aviation Technical University) laid flowers at the bust of Yuri Gagarin near Building No. 9.
The ceremony was attended by a veteran of the Baikonur Cosmodrome, Colonel of the Air Force, pilot Vyacheslav Vasiliev, founder of the International Aerospace School Vyacheslav Abroshchenko, head of the EM department Vyacheslav Vavilov, Professor Flyur Ismagilov, teachers, students and schoolchildren.
- On April 12, 1961, our country took another step towards the conquest of the Universe by man and thus a new space era began. The first who opened this heroic page was our compatriot Yuri Alekseevich Gagarin; - the guests of the holiday addressed the young participants of the conference.
Note that the bust of cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin was installed near building No. 9 of the Ufa State Aviation Technical University in 2011 as part of the Alley of Russian Glory charity project. The bust was made of concrete, painted in bronze, copper and antique, in the construction and architectural company "SMiK" in Kropotkin (Krasnodar Territory) and presented to the university.
