The rector of the university believes that a new round of development is beginning for the science of Bashkortostan. In addition - with incredible prospects.

“Yesterday, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree “On the announcement of the Decade of Science and Technology in the Russian Federation.” Moreover, this opens up simply enchanting opportunities for the scientific community.

Take, for example, the results of 2021, the Year of Science and Technology in the Russian Federation. For Bashkortostan, it was more than successful and was marked by serious breakthroughs in the innovation sphere.

As the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov said at an expanded meeting of higher education organizations and scientific institutions of the world-class Eurasian Scientific and Educational Center (REC) at the end of last year, this is the participation of universities in the Priority 2030 program and the construction of an interuniversity student campus , and the creation of a carbon polygon, and the opening of REC youth laboratories. The volume of federal support for the development programs of the universities of the republic, which announced 14 major strategic projects, exceeded 1.3 billion rubles.

Grants for young scientists have been established, and regional mega-grants have been launched to support scientific research led by leading scientists, a joint program has been launched with the Russian Science Foundation. The total amount of such grant support amounted to about 400 million rubles.

I am sure that the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia will make it possible to significantly increase the opportunities for the development of science in Bashkortostan as well. Especially in terms of the technical, practical implementation of all scientific discoveries,” says Sergey Novikov.

The main objectives of the "scientific decade" are to attract talented young people to the scientific field, to involve researchers and developers in solving the most important problems of the development of society and the country, and to increase the availability of information about the achievements and prospects of Russian science. In addition, their implementation, according to the rector of the USATU Sergey Novikov, will make it possible to turn radically the tide in the global technology market. The main thing, he believes, is that the document clearly spells out the task of attracting young people to the scientific field.

“We all know very well that the greatest number of scientific discoveries are made before the age of 40. And the involvement of young people in scientific activities is a chance to get all these discoveries.

For example, USATU is the largest innovation platform, the leader in Bashkortostan, and in Russia as a whole, in training personnel for high-tech industries: machine building, fuel and energy, metallurgical and military-industrial complexes. Our students join real scientific projects and solve specific engineering problems.

Dozens of student design bureaus operate at USATU, youth laboratories for frontier research are being created, and among the grant recipients of the republic, the most numerous is a team of young scientists from the aviation university.

It is they who, under the supervision of teachers, develop innovative solutions in the field of electrical energy converters, control systems, aircraft piston engines, test benches for hydraulic and electrical machines, robotic machine tools with their own CNC system, the latest technologies for restoration and repair, welding, casting, and much more other.

And an additional incentive from the state, the republic, including in the form of additional financial allocations, I am sure, will allow our children, and the entire student community of Bashkortostan, the scientific circles of the republic, to make many necessary and important discoveries for Russia,” Sergey Novikov emphasized.
