The first All-Russian competition of open source IT projects for schoolchildren and students has begun, organized by the National Technology Initiative (NTI). Its winners will receive additional points for the Unified State Examination when entering universities, as well as the opportunity to complete an internship in large companies.
There are two tracks in the competition. In the “Creators” track, young developers will present open source projects published on the GitHub or GitLab platforms with an open license. Track "Contributors" - for those who are actively involved in finalizing the projects of other community members. Both competitive directions are open to both novice developers and participants that are more experienced. Schoolchildren and students can also try to complete cases from competition partners such as Yandex, Sberbank, Rostelecom, Astra Linux, PostgreSQL, the Innovation Promotion Foundation, etc.
The main goal of the competition is to develop a culture of open development among future IT specialists.
Applications are accepted until April 15, 2022 on the official website.
The results will be taken into account in the digital competition of competencies "Talent of NTO". This means that the winners-schoolchildren will receive up to 10 additional points to the Unified State Examination when they enter the leading technological universities in Russia. The best students from colleges and universities will be able to get internships at large IT companies.
The competition partners are leading IT companies. The expert council also included representatives of Rostelecom, the Cyber School of Moscow State University, Sberbank, the Higher School of Economics, AstraLinux and the Open Mobile Platform. The Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media and the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation support the competition.
The NTI circle movement is an all-Russian community of technology enthusiasts that unites more than 300 thousand schoolchildren, students and mentors in all regions of the country. The task of the Kruzhkovy movement is to form the next generation of entrepreneurs, engineers, scientists, managers who are able to conceive and implement projects, create new solutions and technology companies aimed at the development of Russia and the whole world.
