A sharp increase in the number of people infected with coronavirus occurred in China, and there were significantly more patients in COVID hospitals. According to foreign media reports, the Stealth Omicron infection strain, so named because of the difficulties in diagnosing this virus.

This variant of COVID-19 is spreading faster than the original predecessor.

On March 13, 1.9 thousand new cases of infection with the virus were detected in China, and on the 14th of the same month - 1,337 in dozens of cities. The largest number of infections was in Jilin province (+895), as well as Shenzhen in the south of the country (+75 new cases). Another 41 new cases were identified in Shanghai. At the same time, doctors began identify infected BA.2, also known as “stealth omicron”. The outbreak of coronavirus and a sharp surge in the incidence are associated precisely with the activity of this strain.

When infected with BA.2 COVID-19, symptoms such as fatigue and dizziness are more likely to occur, and may be accompanied by coughing, sneezing and sore throat and loss of smell.

Meanwhile, in Moscow, the mandatory wearing of masks in public places has been canceled since March 15. The mayor of the city Sergei Sobyanin signed the corresponding decree. According to him, the abolition of the mask regime is due to a steady improvement in the epidemiological situation. According to Sobyanin, such a decision will support business in the face of sanctions.

As stated in Rospotrebnadzor, in Bashkiria, the removal of existing anti-COVID measures is not yet planned.
