The regional stage of the Intellectual Olympiad of the Volga Federal District among students in the direction of "Programming" was held on the basis of the USATU. Over 20 teams (composition - two people) attended it, of which 12 were formed from students of our university.
The students completed the tasks, working in close conjunction with each other. It was necessary to not only create a model of the problem and program the solution, but also to make sure that in all boundary cases it gives the correct result. All participants successfully completed the proposed test by sending solutions to the checking system.
The expert jury chaired by Associate Professor of the Department of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics Yulia Valiakhmetova determined the winners and prizewinners of the Olympiad. The rating table, according to the regulations, included one team from each participating university.
A team of students won the first place from the USATU - Igor Shepshelevich (FIR, MO-319) and Alexander Trubin (FIR, PRO-416). BashSU teams took the second and third places from Ufa and Sterlitamak. All of them are waiting for cash prizes and diplomas.
Yulia Valiakhmetova comments:
“The complexity of the tasks was expected for the regional stage of the Olympiad. Due to the epidemiological situation, many face-to-face training camps, olympiads and tournaments have been canceled over the past two years, the number of performances by teams has sharply decreased. Therefore, it is more difficult to maintain motivation in such conditions. Nevertheless, the students of USATU very actively responded to the invitation to participate in the Olympiad.
For the first time in the history of the Intellectual Olympiad of the Volga Federal District, the organizing committee decided to allow all teams of universities in the region to participate. We were pleased with the result, students from many universities of Bashkiria actively fought for the victory.
Sports programming training at USATU continues. At the moment, they are held in a mixed format, due to which the coverage increases: even if personal presence is impossible, the student is involved in the training process.”
It should be noted that the winners of the regional stage will represent our republic at the district stage of the Volga Federal District Intellectual Olympiad, which will be held on March 24-26 in the city of Saransk. We wish our students a successful performance in the next round!
