Information about the EO

Unmanned aircraft systems are ushering in a new era of aviation. This is a global stage in the development of the industry with great potential. However, in order to stay in trend and have time to train specialists for this field, our university develops new programs and opens new specializations. In addition, uses latest domestic and global technologies to teach students.

The Faculty of Avionics, Energy and Info-communications recently acquired two drones, which includes two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) Supercam S150F and a simulator for UAV control. Group of companies called “Unmanned Systems” (Izhevsk) carried out the task.

Unmanned aerial vehicles will be used in organizing student practical in the field of specialty "Control of unmanned aerial vehicles" and for laboratory work in the field of the specialty "Control systems of aircraft".

The S150 unmanned aerial vehicle is one of the most compact drones in the Supercam line and combines the optimal set of characteristics for a wide range of tasks. Has a wingspan of 1.5 meters, while the modular design with removable consoles allows you to carry it disassembled in a case-backpack.

UAV can reach speeds of 65-120 km / h, respectively; the flight range reaches 100 km. The flight time is 90 minutes. The communication range of the control channel is up to 40 km.

In addition to operational tasks for monitoring and reconnaissance of the terrain, the Supercam S150 is excellent for the purpose of high-precision aerial photography of the terrain.

Lyubov Neugodnikova, Associate Professor of the Department of Information and Measuring Technology, comments:

“Anticipating questions about when this device will be launched, I will say right away that we will be able to organize the first flight only in May. It is necessary to undergo training from the supplier and wait for warm flying weather, and immediately before launch, comply with all pre-flight procedures, including obtaining a flight permit from Air Traffic Control.

In addition, we cannot launch it vertically, it starts with an elastic catapult (remember a child's slingshot!), and uses a built-in parachute for landing. Therefore, it is possible to fly around it only in an open field.

The external piloting training system will be structured hierarchically: first, teachers and specialists of the department will take the courses with practical, and then by students.

The complex will allow you to master the basics of operating a drone, the subtleties of its real piloting; it will become an excellent assistant in the study of the device itself and its systems, and will also teach students how to properly handle technology. "
