The USATU assesed the final qualifying works of students who were on an internship at the University of Trento (Italy). The defenses were held remotely.

Anna Khristodulo and Maria Korneeva, Master's students of the Computer Science and Engineering direction, who are studying under the double degree program, were the first to shoot back. In October, the girls will present their projects to the commission of the Italian university.  

Anna Christodoulo shared her impressions:

“The defense was organized, I was connected on time, and I was the first to report. The questions were adequate and reasonable, I think that the commission was satisfied with my performance.

As for the learning process, studying in Trento is radically different from USATU. It is more difficult to study at our university during the semester due to the large number of lectures, practices and laboratory work. But thanks to the material accumulated over six months, the session, in my opinion, is easy.

In Trento, the opposite: here the student is left to himself for the whole semester, it is not necessary to attend lectures, all the material is on the university website, there are no practices and laboratory work.

However, during the session you will have to work. Teachers are very serious about their subjects, and if a student did not answer well enough, they would not even put a “three”, although for the same answer at USATU you can reach the “four”.

A bachelor's student Vlada Yakupova is completing her studies in Trento. She also successfully defended her graduate work at USATU in a remote format.

Vlada Yakupova says:

“I have only positive impressions about studying in Trento. I note right away that students of the last years of the bachelor's degree are allowed to take master's courses during the exchange semester, so most of my subjects were just for the master's degree. The subjects turned out to be very interesting and useful, I really liked the presentation of the material: light and with appropriate humor. A fairly large number of practical exercises helped to consolidate the theory.

 The contingent of students in the master's program is multinational, so I met guys from many countries, including Finland, Germany, China, Mongolia, Armenia, Belarus, etc.

I want to note that the excellent living conditions: I have a separate room in a hostel with a bathroom. The kitchen is shared on the floor, and I had only ten people on the floor.

Well, of course, the opportunity to travel in your free time pleases: in addition to Italy itself, you can visit nearby countries - France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland.

As for the defense of the graduation project, my supervisor, Associate Professor of the Department of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics, Ekaterina Sazonova, helped me a lot with the official part, collecting documents, etc. Pre-defense and defense were held in the format of video conferences. The commission was sympathetic, so we can say that I defended myself practically in the regular mode, there were no problems.``
