STRC "Bashkortostan" showed a TV news report about a racing car assembled by our students. The car accelerates to almost 200 kilometers.

“It doesn’t purr like a kitten. A racing car can leave the garage on its own. However, there is such a tradition: these cars drive on their own only on tracks. In this case, on the site in front of UGATU. The first laps are warm-up.

- Morning clearing of snow exposed the December ice, but the car feels confident. Tires - studded.
Nevertheless, you can also push. The very design of the car obliges to drive with pressure on the pedal. Under the hood, however, absent, the engine is from a Japanese sports bike. 80 horsepower push the car, which for its size weighs 250 kilograms. Some parts are made of titanium, some are made of aluminum, and some are made of carbon. 30 students worked on the creation.
In addition, with the help of argon-arc welding, many parts of the racing car were fastened. We assembled the car in the auditorium 114, which is both a laboratory and a car repair shop. That car was already the third vehicle of the student design bureau that exists under the wing of the Ufa Aviation University. Since 2015, a group of young like-minded people has been creating cars, on which they themselves then participate in competitions.
On the table in front of the student are five awards made in the same style. That one car won them all.

The victory at those races in Moscow was not awarded for just for its beauty and speed. The Formula Student competition is an educational project. Competitors are judged on a range of categories. For example, by the ratio of cost and quality of production.
The car with the number 72 on board showed itself in five nominations at once and took second place in the overall standings. Ufa students are planning to try their hand at competitions in Europe. In the meantime, the car will have to undergo a number of improvements.
