We protected our priorities
The list of universities selected for participation in the program of strategic academic leadership "Priority-2030" has been announced. Three Bashkir universities of the Eurasian Research and Education Center became participants in the program. Among the winners is the Ufa University of Science and Technology - the combined university of BSU and USATU.
- Basic grants in the amount of 100 million rubles are provided to universities for the implementation of measures of development programs which they defended within the framework of the «Priority-2030» competition, as well as for financial support of the costs associated with achieving the goals specified in their development programs, - said the adviser to the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan on science Ruslan Kazykhanov.
The Ufa University of Science and Technology, created on the basis of BSU and USATU, will change the positioning of the Republic of Bashkortostan and create a strong scientific and educational core in the region.
“This is our well-deserved victory, we have been actively and harmoniously working on a strategy for the development of a large university throughout the year,” commented the rector of USATU Sergei Novikov. - Our goal is to increase the competitiveness of the regional system of higher education in the international scientific and educational space, taking into account the development trends of high-tech sectors of the economy. Also transform into a university of a Eurasian scale, focused on research, development and training of professionals in the field of promising mobility technologies. And the corresponding reserves have already been made by our universities in the presented scientific and technological frontiers!
- The creation of a joint university will make it possible to move away from the raw material economy model and move to new trends in the knowledge economy, such as biomedicine and genetics, the creation of new materials, including aerospace materials. This university will train teachers and entrepreneurs of new formats, - earlier, while defending the program of the united university, the rector of Bashkir State University Nikolai Morozkin drew attention.
Now our universities are applying for a special part of the «Priority-2030» program grant. The recipients of the special part will be selected by the program council following the results of the second stage of the competition. The size of the grant will be determined for each specific university based on the Council's proposals based on the results of consideration of development programs, reports of universities participating in the program.
«Priority 2030» is the most ambitious program of state support and development of universities in the history of the country. Its goal is to form more than 100 progressive modern universities in Russia by 2030 - centers of scientific, technological and socio-economic development of the country.
